About Jen Lescher, LCSW
I have been through many life challenges and crisis situations. These difficult experiences made me committed to my own personal healing, and with time, perseverance, and the help of teachers, healers, and professionals I learned that profound healing and growth is possible. I also came to an understanding that we experience meaning and fulfillment from helping others in whatever way we do this best, and for me this was working with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health and wellness issues. I started this work over sixteen years ago when I worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at a local nonprofit near my college during my undergraduate years. Since then I have worked with children and families struggling with acute mental health needs, adults coping with a variety of mental health diagnosis and relationship troubles, veterans dealing with military trauma, children and adults at the end of life due to terminal illness, and many other complex issues. As well as being a licensed psychotherapist I am also a trained yoga instructor, I have spent many years participating in different meditation courses, and I have attended a variety of seminars and retreats to deepen my own connection to my soul. I have also studied Jungian theory at the CG Jung Institute of Chicago and I have studied attachment theory and how it presents in the romantic lives of adults. I bring all these experiences to my therapy practice.
When I am not working or studying I can be found working on my other passion: film photography.
